World's Fastest Informix DBAs - Ardenta ranks among the top performers!

In a recent 2011 competition held at the International Informix User Group (IIUG) conference in Kansas 15-18 May, Ardenta's Neil Truby was the World's Fastest DBA in the Professional Consultant category, and second overall across all categories.

The fun contest, in which the contestants take a standard system and optimises its performance using only Informix Tuning skills, has become a popular feature at recent Informix events to find and honour the fastest Informix DBAs. Contestants were challenged to take an Informix server running 1,000 OLTP users and optimize it in 45 minutes!

The latest contest used a new, bigger database with the Open Source BenchmarkSQL Java program to generate 1,000 sessions doing inserts, updates, and deletes against an Informix database. The Open Source BenchmarkSQL is a JDBC benchmark that closely resembles the TPC-C standard for OLTP.

"Taking part in the competition is good fun, and securing top spot is a really nice accolade for Ardenta" said Ardenta's Neil Truby.
